Melanoma
Most serious form of skin cancer which sometimes develops from a benign or non cancerous pigmented mole
Squamous Cell Carcinoma
Slow-growing malignant tumor arising from the upper layers of the epidermis
Keratosis
Non-cancerous brown, black or light tan growth on the face, chest, shoulder or back
Pressure Injury
Bedsores are an injury to the skin that can range from mild reddening of the skin to severe tissue damage - and sometimes infection - that extends into muscle and bone
Radiation Injury
Damage to tissues caused by exposure to ionizing radiation (x-ray & gamma rays)
Thermal Injury: Burns
Injury caused by fire, ultraviolet light, hot liquid, electrical current, harmful chemical, sunlight; may involve just part of the skin or the skin and underlying tissues
Hyperthermia
An abnormally high body temperature caused by a failure of the heat-regulating mechanisms of the body to deal with the heat coming from the environment
Hypothermia
A dangerous drop in body temperature, usually caused by prolonged exposure to cold temperatures
