Fluid & Hemodynamic Disorders Flashcards
Dehydration
Total volume of body fluids is less than normal
Edema
Swelling caused by excess fluid trapped in your body’s tissues
Hemorrhage
An escape of blood from a ruptured blood vessel, especially when profuse
Shock
Severe hypotension (decrease in blood pressure) that compromises the supply of nutrients and oxygen to tissues

Embolism
When part or whole of a thrombus is dislodged and circulates through the bloodstream
Hypo/Hypernatremia
Low or high sodium levels in blood
Hypo/Hyperkalemia
Low or high potassium levels in blood
