Funiculi

A

bundle of nerve fibers/axons, enclosed by the perineurium. The Latin word “funiculus” means “string”.

-The spinal cord’s white matter is divided into three funiculi: the anterior, lateral, and posterior funiculi.

Does the spinal chord have white matter or grey matter?

A

It’s composed of both!
GREY MATTER (containing nerve cell bodies/dendrites/synapses, H look, processes sensory info/initiates motor commands/ reflexes)
and WHITE MATTER (containing myelinated axons, surrounds grey matter, transmits electrical signals between spinal cord & brain)
