A

A

A

What are excitatory drugs and give an example

A

They increase activity in the CNS making it very alert e.g Amphetamines

What are inhibitory drugs and give examples

A

They reduce the effect of neurotransmitters
E.g; heroin which acts on the presynaptic membrane to reduce effects of neurotransmitters and reduce sense of pain
Beta blockers which block receptors for neurotransmitters
