Musculocutaneous nerve- C5-C7
Well protected in the axilla
Leaves the axilla, pierces the coracobrachialis
Pierces deep fascia lateral to biceps tendon
Continue into forearm as lateral cutaneous nerve
Stabbing to axilla
Motor- ant. Compartment of the arm
Sensation- lateral cutaneous nerve forearm
Axillary nerve- C6-C7
Exits axilla via quadrangular space
Passes medial to the surgical neck of the humerus
-Post terminal branch- deltoid+ teres minor, skin over the inferior portion of deltoid- upper lateral cutaneous nerve
- Ant. Terminal Branch
-Articular branch- glenohumeral Joint
Damaged by direct trauma to humerus
Characteristic clinical signs- deltoid muscle atrophy, flattened appearance, greater tuberosity can be palpated
