Myeloma

A

Proliferation of neoplastic cells in bone marrow
Signs - non specific (anorexia, lethargy, weight loss, pyrexia, PUPD), hyperviscosity (cerebral dysfunction, ocular changes, CHF), ocular signs of hyperviscosity (retinal haemorrhage/ detachment), bone pain, lameness, bleeding disorders
Mean age onset 8yo

Peri-anal adenoma tx

A

Surgery - removal and castration , radiotherapy, hormonal therapy (deslorelin)
Deslorelin works to suppress testosterone production

A

Prostatic neoplasia (adenocarcinoma? TCC - from bladder but can have prostatic involvement)

A

Ypozane blocks testosterone
Once a day for a week and then fine for 6 months

Anal sac adenocarcinoma

A

Cocker spaniels predisposed
Constipation?
Malignant spread to lymph nodes rectal and sub iliac (caudal dorsal abdomen not kidneys)
FNA ultrasound guided/ CT and remove affected tissues
Chemo
MST 18 months with treatment
