A
Cat mouth breathing, increased abdominal effort, pale mm, off back legs, no deep pain response, no tail tone, gave methadone IV (4 hourly) and subcutaneous fluids, put in oxygen tent, radiographs (lung contusions, reduced sternal contact heart, fractured left hindlimb (near pelvis), compression of sacral vertebrae, gave ketamine loading dose IV (500mcg/kg) then a ketamine CRI (10mcg/kg/min, fluids 2mg/kg/hr), stopped breathing HR 160bpm, IPPV whilst waiting for owners, PTS. Adv would need referral surgery and MRI to assess spinal cord but cannot travel as not stable enough.
