Key physical exam in neck mass
Vital signs,
HEENT exam
Exam of lymph nodes, spleen and tonsils
Heart, lung and abdominal exams
39 yo F with single 2-cm mass on R side of neck
+ night sweats, fever, weight loss, loss of appetite and early satiety
+ mass is painless, mobile and not changed in size
+ no heat intolerance, tremor, palpitations, hoarseness, cough, difficulty breathing or swallowing, or abdominal pain
+ husband recently discharged from prison
+ FHx of gastric cancer
Hodgkin’s/non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma
Tuberculosis
Thyroid nodule
Gastric carcinoma
CBC with differential, electrolytes, ESR, CRP, lymph node biopsy, PPD, CXR, TSH, US - thyroid, upper endoscopy
