What does the root of the neck connect?
Cervical contents with the thorax and upper limb
What is the inferior boundary of the neck?
Bounded centrally by thoracic inlet and is bounded by the manubrium, first rib and its costal cartilage and T1 vertebrae
Superior boundary of neck?
Cervical vertebral 6/7 where trachea and oesophagus have their own origin
Central structures of neck?
Trachea oesphagus right and left recurrent laryngeal nerves right and left sympathetic trunks thyroid gland paired lobes of the thymus or its remnants
Bilateral structures of neck?
Scalenus anterior common carotid artery internal jugular vein subclavian artery and its branches and subclavian vein brachiocephalic veins vagus nerve and phrenic nerve and brachial plexuses
Unilateral structures?
Thoracic duct and their trunks on the left side right lymphatic duct and its trunks on the right side
