opposition to indoctrination of youths

A

Edelweiss Piraten- more active resistance against Hitler Youth but most extreme when 12 publicly hanged because of attacks on military and assassination of gestapo officer
Swing Youth- interested in jazz which was forbidden

July 1933 Concordat was signed
nazis would guarantee Catholic Church religious freedom and not interfere with church’s property and rights etc appeared a success but being lulled into false sense of security while the dictatorship was being established
1933 Nazi interference in religious affairs was already causing resentment and disillusionment for both Catholic and Protestant churches

1933 birth rate increased peak 1939
Lebensborn- founded by Himmler and SS to impregnante women- 11,000 children
