- By 1937 the National Socialist Teacher’s League included 97% of all teachers
- Qualification standards were lowered
- Those who didn’t conform to these rules had their statuses reduced in society

Hitler wanted the youth to be “swift as a greyhound, tough as leather and hard as steel”

- The Nazis believed in ‘Kindle, Kirk and Kuche’ He believed their job belonged at home
- Hitler tried to explain that women had a different purpose to men

- Labour exchanges and employers were advised to discriminate positively in favour of men
- Percentage of women in employment fell from 37% to 31%
- Only employment opportunities for employment were Nazi women’s organisations like the NSF (National Socialist Womanhood)

Lebensborn, set up by Himmler in 1935- recieved a medal for having more children and Nazi’s way of increasing the Aryan population
Lebensborn created organised brothels for girls to be impregnated by members of SS

What were the policies implemented?
- Robert Ley (Head of German Labour Front) worked out that there were 3740 hours of free time for the average German worker, and he wanted to make sure this time wasn’t wasted. “People happy in their free time, will be happy, hard workers”
- Ley ordered two 25,000 tonne cruise-liners to take German workers on foreign holidays
- The Strength Through Joy programmed (KDF), organised by the German Labour Front, was one of the key organisations which organised leisure activities for the workers

Despite the German workers paying for these benefits through compulsory deductions, the image of people being given holidays was of great propaganda value to the Germans
