If no one mentioned a higher being to this person, they would have never known about the possibility. Their culture would not have NURTURED this person to know about a God.
However, this person still might have an urge to find something else, they might have a spiritual desire. This is the nature of humans - to find the answer to questions like “who are we” and “when do we die”?
