Authorizes access to the communications of targeted subjects for foreign intelligence purposes
• Must have foreign intelligence purpose and reason to believe the subject is a non-U.S. citizen
• Provides access to full content of communication
Cyber information sharing act provisions:
Company must remove personal information before sharing
• Cyber threat indicators can be used for prosecution purposes
• Company is protected from liability for monitoring activities
• Sharing information with federal government does not waive privileges
• Shared information is exempt from federal and state FOIA laws
• Prohibits the government from using shared information to regulate or take enforcement actions against
lawful activities
