Diabetes
Caused by two much glucose in the blood
Often because of lack of insulin in body
Insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas which causes various body cells to take up glucose from the blood.
When blood glucose levels fall, body starts using stored sugar as energy
If not enough insulin in the body, glucose cannot be stored and then broken down and used in times of need

Genetic factors - having genes makes someone more vulnerable to diabetes

Are considered desirable since these foods provide more constantl levels of glucose in the bloodstream
Cardiovascular disease
Involve Heart or blood vessels (arteries and veins)
Cardiovascular disease include
Angina, stroke, congestive heart failure, heart attack
