Class Bravo

A
  1. Characteristics:
    - generally tailored to individual airspaces
    - designated for major airports
    - generally sfc to 10,000’ MSL
    - specified on chart by solid blue line
    - 30NM mode C vail
    - requires Mode C transponder w/in 30nm of airport, surface to 10,000’ MSL
  2. Pilot requirements:
    - private pilot
    - student pilot w/endorsement
    - CFI will give specific flight instruction on ops in class B
  3. Equipment:
    - two way radio
    - Mode C transponder
  4. Requirements to enter:
    - clearance from ATC Required prior to entering
  5. Weather minimums:
    - 3SM visibility
    - clear of clouds
  6. ATC services:
    - all aircraft separation

    - 5NM radius, sfc-4000’ AGL
    - 10NM radius, 1200’-4000’ AGL
    - specified on chart by a solid magenta line

    - establish radio communications

    - begins again at 60,001’
