A
- Characteristics:
- generally tailored to individual airspaces
- designated for major airports
- generally sfc to 10,000’ MSL
- specified on chart by solid blue line
- 30NM mode C vail
- requires Mode C transponder w/in 30nm of airport, surface to 10,000’ MSL - Pilot requirements:
- private pilot
- student pilot w/endorsement
- CFI will give specific flight instruction on ops in class B - Equipment:
- two way radio
- Mode C transponder - Requirements to enter:
- clearance from ATC Required prior to entering - Weather minimums:
- 3SM visibility
- clear of clouds - ATC services:

A

- 5NM radius, sfc-4000’ AGL
- 10NM radius, 1200’-4000’ AGL

- establish radio communications - Weather minimums:
- 3SM visibility
- Cloud clearance 500’ below, 1000’ above, 2000’ horizontally - ATC services:

A
- Characteristics:
- generally 4 or 5nm
- surface to 2500’ AGL

- sfc to overlying airspace, if no overlying airspace extends up to 14,500’ MSL or sfc to 1,500’ AGL whichever is higher

Below 1200’ AGL:
- day 1/2sm visibility clear of clouds
- night: 1sm visibility clear of clouds
Between 1200’ AGL and 10000’ MSL:

- night: 3sm visibility cloud clearance 500’ above, 1000’ below, 2000’ horizontally
Above 10000’ MSL or 1200’ AGL:
- 5sm visibility cloud clearance 1000’ above 1000’ below 1sm horizontally
