What is a nasal polyp?
A
Epithelial cells that form an overgrowth of tissue in the nasal cavity

Nasal polyps occur when?
A
Hyperplasia in ethmoid or maxillary sinus, usually obstruct air for and mucus causing infections causing mucosal swelling

What causes polyps?
A
not clear
allergies, asthma, chronic sinusitis, cystic fibrosis,, primary ciliary dyskinesia

Symptoms of nasal polyps?
A
Block mucus drainage and obstruct air flow, fever, headaches, anosmia, snoring, sleep apnoea, hypoxia in young infants

Diagnosis or polyps?
A
Nasal endoscopy or CT scan

Polyp treatment?
A
Shrink with steroids or endoscopic sinus surgery
