What is a galaxy?
Clusters of stars rotating around their centre of gravity
What is a main sequence star?
Average star, hydrogen fusion to create energy and EMR
What is a planet?
Cold small body orbiting a star
What is a red giant?
Large stars, not much fusion, very bright, not much heat, exhausted Hydrogen supply
What is a white dwarf?
Small dense stars where fusion doesn’t occur anymore
What are binary stars?
Two stars that orbit around each other
What is a supernova?
Explosion of a star
What is a black hole?
If a star is large enough it will create a black hole instead of a supernova
What is a neutron star?
Left over of a supernova (sometimes). Also known as pulsars
What is a quasar?
Very luminous compact object. Surround black holes
What is a comet?
Small ice and rock fragments with a gas cloud (tail). Sometimes orbit around stars
What is a meteor?
A rock fragment going through space
What is a meteorite?
When a meteor enters the earth atmosphere it heats up/vaporise and becomes a meteorite
What is a nebula?
Large clouds of gas and dust, birthplace of stars
