  1. Onychomycosis- ringworm of nail. Nail becomes thick and discolours
  2. Tinea manus- ringworm of hand. Appears as rings containing tiny blisters
  3. Tinea pedis- athletes foot

  1. Onychoptosis- shedding or falling off of nails
  2. Onychatrophia- atrophy or wasting away of the nail
  3. Onycholysis- loosening or separation of nail. Do not touch.
  4. Nail psoriasis. Can do basic manicure on this.
  5. Pyogenic granuloma- lesion that can form on an area of the hand/foot or on the nail bed

Nail disorders (10) can treat on these:

  1. Blue nails- systematic problems of the heart, poor circulation or injury. Use light pressure when doing manicure ***
  2. Corrugations- horizontal wavy ridges on the nail. Due to Injury or uneven growth. Avoid overbuffing
  3. Koilonychia (spoon nails). Systematic long-term illness or nerve disturbance. File carefully and no pressure to nail plate ***
  4. Furrows- indented vertical lines on the nail plate. Injury to matrix ***
  5. Onychogryposis (claw nails)- increased curvature of nails, may occur with age or injury
  6. Onychocryptosis- ingrown nails ***
  7. Melanonychia- a brown or black darkening of the nail ***
  8. Onychauxis (hypertrophy)- thickening of nail plate and abnormal outgrowth of nail
  9. Tile-shaped nails- heredity ***
  10. Pincer nails
