Pathophysiology of duchennne’s muscular dystrophy

A

Mutation dystrophin gene on X chromosome → sk muscle lacks protein dystrophin (provides structural stability) → leakage of Calcium into muscle cell → calcium activate proteases that damage muscle → weakness and fibrosis of PROXIMAL muscles
