When was the scream made and by who
Edvard Munch. There were two versions that he made though there is a speculation of him making a third version. The first two versions was made in 1893 and 1895.
When was the starry night made and by who
Vincent Van Gogh, 1889.
What does the scream represent?
The painting was created with the intention of showing his own mental illnesses. The brush strokes show the distortion of the background and of the person in the painting. This shows how it didn’t represent reality to munch.
What does the starry night represent?
While some have claimed that Starry Night indicates hallucinations consistent with schizophrenia, others have pointed to the cypress (the tree on the painting) as a sign of an obsession with death—indicative of mood swings or bipolar disorder. It showed how Van Gogh was suffering from multiple mental health disorders.
