Melody
Is a sequence of single notes; the main, most prominent line or voice in a piece of music
Rhythm
Is notes of different durations are organized into patters
Harmony
Is the succession of chords, chords and notes that “belongs to” each other
Chords
Are two or more notes played together at the same time
Timbre
Is the quality of a sound, or the ‘colour’ of a sound and often refers to different instruments
Dynamics
Is the volume in music that varies but also how the instruments are played (feeling)
Texture
Is the arrangement of instruments or sounds in a song, playin at the same time. Thin texture (few) thick texture (many)
Tempo
How slow ir fast the music is played. (Bmp=Beats per minute) standard is 120, higher is faster and lower is slower
Pitch
Is how high or a low a note sounds
Intro
The beginning of the song before a verse and often instrumental
Verse
The story of the song,same chords different lyrics in every verse
Pre-chorus
Build up,before the chorus, always the same chords and lyrics
Chorus
The main section. The meaning of the song,what you sing about, same chords,same lyrics and the chorus often repeats and is often the title of the song
Bridge
Different melody, new lyrics, a contrast to the song, before the last chorus. Often thinner texture and lower dynamics than the rest of the song
Solo
Instrumental part where one instrument playing a melody instead of vocals
