Musculoskeletal: Upper Extremity: Ulnohumeral and Radiohumeral Joints: Osteokinematics and Arthrokinematics Flashcards
1
Q
Elbow: Ulnohumeral
Osteokinematic: Flexion
A
- The Arthrokinematics of Ulnohumeral Flexion in an OPEN KINETIC CHAIN.
- With Ulnohumeral flexion the CONCAVE surface of the ulna will roll and glide ANTERIORLY on the convex surface of the humerus due to the ANTERIOR movement of the shaft of the ulna.
- The Arthrokinematics of Ulnohumeral Flexion in a CLOSED KINETIC CHAIN.
- With Ulnohumeral flexion the CONVEX surface of the humerus will glide POSTERIORLY as the head and shaft of the humerus roll ANTERIORLY on the concave surface of the ulna.
2
Q
Elbow: Ulnohumeral
Osteokinematic: Extension
A
- The Arthrokinematics of Ulnohumeral Extension in an OPEN KINETIC CHAIN.
- With Ulnohumeral extension the CONCAVE surface of the ulna will roll and glide POSTERIORLY on the convex surface of the humerus due to the POSTERIOR movement of the shaft of the ulna.
- The Arthrokinematics of Ulnohumeral Extension in a CLOSED KINETIC CHAIN.
- With Ulnohumeral extension the CONVEX surface of the humerus will glide ANTERIORLY as the head and shaft of the humerus roll POSTERIORLY on the concave surface of the ulna.
3
Q
Elbow: Radiohumeral
Osteokinematic: Flexion
A
- The Arthrokinematics of Radiohumeral Flexion in an OPEN KINETIC CHAIN.
- With Radiohumeral flexion the CONCAVE surface of the radius will roll and glide ANTERIORLY on the convex surface of the humerus due to the ANTERIOR movement of the shaft of the radius.
- The Arthrokinematics of Radiohumeral Flexion in a CLOSED KINETIC CHAIN.
- With Radiohumeral flexion the CONVEX surface of the humerus will glide POSTERIORLY as the head and shaft of the humerus roll ANTERIORLY on the concave surface of the radius.
4

Elbow: Radiohumeral
Osteokinematic: Extension
A

- The Arthrokinematics of Radiohumeral Extension in a CLOSED KINETIC CHAIN.
- With Radiohumeral extension the CONVEX surface of the humerus will glide ANTERIORLY as the head and shaft of the humerus roll POSTERIORLY on the concave surface of the radius.
