Muscles In The Anterior Leg Flashcards
Origin and insertion of the tibialis anterior
-originates from the lateral surface of the tibia
-attaches to the medial cuneiform and the base of metatarsal 1.
-innervation: deep fibular nerve
Origin and insertion of extensor digitorum longus
-originates from the lateral condyle of the tibia and the medial surface of the of the fibular
-fibres converge into a tendon-travels onto the dorsal surface of the foot
-tendon splits into 4 and each tendon inserts into a toe
-innervation: deep fibular nerve
Origin and insertion of the fibularis tertius
-originates from the extensor digitorum longus from the medial surface of the fibular.
-tendon descends onto the dorsal surface of the foot and attaches to the 5th metatarsal
-innervation: deep fibular nerve
