What are the relationships between the muscular system and the integumentary system?
The integumentary system removes excess heat from the body, synthesises vitamine D3 (for Ca and P), and protects underlying muscles. In turn the muscular system pulls on skin for facial expressions.
What are the relationships between the muscular system and the skeletal system
The skeletal system maintains normal Ca and P levels in fluids, supports and provides muscles with attachment points. In turn the muscular system provides movement, stress on tendons for maintenance and joint stability.
What are the relationships between the muscular system and the nervous system
The nervous system controls the muscle contractions for movement, respiratory and cardiovascular systems. In turn the muscular system spindels monitor position, face muscles allow for expression. Muscles in larynx, tongue lips and cheek allow for speech.
What are the relationships between the muscular system and the endocrine system
Endocrine hormones adjust muscle metabolism and growth, parathyroid hormone and calcitonin regulate Ca and P ion levels. In turn the muscular system provides protection to some organs.
What are the relationships between the muscular system and the cardiovascular system
The cardiovascular system delivers O2 and nutrient while removing CO2, lactic acid and heat. In turn the muscular system contractions assist blood flow.
What are the relationships between the muscular system and the lymphatic system
The lymphatic system defends muscles against infection and assists in tissue repairs. In turn the muscular system protects lymph nodes and vessels in the abdominopelvic cavity.
What are the relationships between the muscular system and the respiratory system
Provides O2 and removes CO2. In turn the muscular system fills and emptys the lungs, controls entrance to respiratory tract, larynx and production of sound.
What are the relationships between the muscular system and the digestive system
It provides nutrients, the liver regulates blood glucose and fatty acid levels, and removes lactic acid from circulation. In turn the muscular system protects and supports tissue in abdominal cavity, and controls entrance and exit of digestive tract.
What are the relationships between the muscular system and the urinary system
Removes waste products from protein metabolism, assists in regulation of Ca and P. In turn the muscular system external sphincter controls urethra.
What are the relationships between the muscular system and the reproductive system
Reproductive organs accelerate muscle growth. In turn the muscular system allows for contraction to eject semen, contractions during sex produce pleasurable sensations.
