A

Mitosis is when a body cell splits up to form two identical offspring. Division of body cells.

Describe the process of mitosis?

A

1) the DNA is replicated
2) DNA then coils into double armed chromosomes. They’re the exact same copies of each other.
3) the chromosomes line up at the centre of the cell and then divide as cell fibres pull them apart.
4) the cytoplasm divides forming two new cells, containing the same genetic material.
5. ) that’s mitosis, you’ve ended up with two new cells that are genetically identical to eachother.
