- Ethnic minorities less successful at securing loans due to financial instability
- Preference to live in ethnic communities which worsens ethnic segregation
- Overcrowding and unsanitary conditions due to low incomes and lack of suitable housing

- Tensions between residents that do not share ideologies or religions
