Reasoning Skills
The power of the mind to think, understand, and form judgments by a process of logic.
Skepticism
A doubting or questioning attitude or state of mind.
Speech Recognition Engine
The piece of software that takes what a doctor says and turns it into a report, which the MTE will edit.
Speech Recognition
The process of converting a speech signal to a sequence of words by means of an algorithm implemented as a computer program. Sometimes known as automatic speech recognition.
Speech-to-Text
The conversion of a spoken language audio signal to textual representation. Talk turns into type.
Text-to-Speech
The conversion of a text input to an audio speech signal. Type turned into talk.
Verification
The process of establishing the truth, accuracy, or validity of something.
Voice Recognition
The process of identifying a speaker by computational methods on an audio signal.
Voice Training
Also referred to as acoustic modeling. The process by which a speech recognition engine is taught to recognize the vocabulary, grammar, and vocal stylings of a particular person (e.g., the doctor).
Workflow
The sequence of industrial, administrative, or other processes through which a piece of work passes from initiation to completion.
Speech Recognition Technology
Doctor dictates –> MTE accesses the audio –> he/she transcribes the report and creates an electronic text version. –> MTE reviews and proofreads
