MT: Intro to Bench Flashcards
1
Q
Socket Ab/Adduction
A
- Adduction can accomodate more loading
- most pt will be adducted
- socket in AD we put hip AB on stretch
2
Q
Reference Points
A
- midsagittal mark: center of lateral wall
- mid coronal mark: at center of anterior or posterior wall
3
Q
Socket Position: Rotation
A
- orient the socket so that the LOP determined during static alighment is parallel to the foot plate
- posterior wall of the NURIC socket should be perpendicular to the LOP
4
Q
Socket Position: Angular
A
- sagittal plane we will increase the flexion by 5 degrees
- put hip extensors on stretch for loading response
5
Q
Linear Position: sagittal plane
*
A
- weight line (sagittal bisector) most times should be anterior to knee axis of rotation
- placing knee/foot more anteriorly reduces stability
6
Q
Linear Position: Coronal Plane
A
- weight line (bwteen coronal bisector and IT) should go through center of knee unit
- Positioning knee/foot more medially reduces stability
7
Q
Linear Position: Transverse Plane
A
knee unit should be externally rotated 5 deg
8
Q
Why position knee/foot more laterally
A
- shorter RL
- larger patients
- weaker abductors
