- drug class: NSAID - COX inhibitor
- common indications:
- mechanism of action: inhibit cox 2 therefore, antipyretic(decreased cytokines induced prostaglandin synthesis) , analgesic (low PGE) and anti - inflammatory (decreased PGs)
- common side effects: BPH, dysphagia
- uncommon side effects: anxiety, chest pain
- drug-drug interactions: aspirin, ACEi
- contra-indications: heart disease, previous cardiovascular event, PUD
** increase risk of MI in everyone **
