  • drug class: anti proliferation immunosuppressant
  • common indications: maintains remission in vasculitis and lupus, also in IBD
  • mechanism of action: inhibit production of purines ( a & g) needed for dna and rna synthesis
  • common side effects: bone marrow suppression, malignancy, infection, hepatitis
  • uncommon side effects:
  • drug-drug interactions: myelosuppression with many other drugs
