Fall on shoulder - young vs old?
A
If old (greater than 60) will likely break humerus If young (less than 60) will likely break clavicle

X-ray ? fractured ribs?
A
For expectation management - but otherwise management does not change

Shoulder Pain?
A
NSAIDS to start. Can offer cortisone shot if this does not work. Give it time!

Polymyalgia Rheumatica Sx?
A
Bilateral shoulder pain.
Watch out for giant cell arteritis

What is Rhabdomyolysis?
A
Break down of muscles - any injury of muscle can cause, loss of normal ATP/ lytes metabolism
Often associated with AKI because of products of muscle breakdown
Will result in +++ CK
Tx with lots and lots of IV fluids + supportive

Prevention of osteoporosis?
A
Adequate Ca and Vit D intake, exercise (wt bearing), smoking and alcohol cessation, Bone scan starting age 60 for women, 70 for men
