It’s the deep ditch surrounding the castle

What are the strengths of a motte and Bailey castle?
The keep makes it easier to see attacks
There’s water in the moat so it’s harder for enemies to see attacks
It easy to build
What are the weaknesses of a motte and Bailey castle
Since it’s made of wood, enemies can set it on fire
The wood can rot
The stone keep could sink in the motte
