It’s very life shortening for most people. Progression varies from months to years.
Life expectancy from onset is 3-4 years on average.
Symptoms gradually worsen.

Motor Neurons (specialized brain and spinal cord cells) die :( 4 different forms- ALS PBP PMA PLS Have different life expectancies.

Wasting and weakness of muscles.
Involuntary movements
Spasms
Speech and swallowing difficulties.

A
Spastic.
