Motor 2: Polysynaptic Reflexes Flashcards
1
Q
describe the mechanism of withdrawl effect
A
- Receprocal Innervation: flexor muscle is stimulated & extensor muscle is inhibit, to elevate leg from danger on the floor
- Crossed extensor Reflex: stimulation of extensor at opposite limb, other leg extends to give support when elevating hurt leg
2
Q
Describe superficial Abdomenal Reflex
A
- Using a blunt object on the abdomen, underlying abdomenal muscles contract
- Abdomenal Muscles are supplied by T7-T12
- Reflex used to localise site of lesion in spinal cord
3
Q
In planter reflex, blunt object is ran on
A
Lateral aspect of foot
4
Q
Planter flextion is supplied by
A
L5, S1,S2
5
Q
Abdnormaliy of panter reflex
A
- failure of planter flexion
- Leads to Fanning (+babinski sign)
- Lesion in L5,S1,S2
6
Q
Center of cremastric reflex
A
L1-L2
7
Q
Mechanism of positive supporting reflex
A
Contraction of both flexor and extensor muscles of the leg, creating a rigid column to support bodyweight
8
Q
Visceral Reflex include
A
- Defecation
- Micturation
- Erection
