Q

What does motion after-effect imply?

A

That vision involves:

  • Opponent processing
  • Interocular transfer (transfer of info from both eyes to V1)

Q

What are the 2 problems faced when detecting motion?

A

Correspondence - Which features in frame 2 correspond to frame 1
Aperture - Direction of local figure might be ambiguous depending on apperture

Q

What is saccadic suppression?

A

The reduction of visual sensitivity that occurs when one makes a saccadic eye movement

  • One copy of signal goes to eye muscles
  • Other copy goes to ‘comparator’ which compensates for image changed caused by eye movement
