• Modal verbs - must shall would could, should might
• Adverbs - describes verb- how, where, when, how often, to what degree
• Prepositions - small words indicate position- from, to, under, in

Affixation
- At either the beginning (prefix) e.g. defrost
- end of a word (suffix) e.g. teacher
- At the Middle of a word (infixes) e.g. Fanbloodytastic
Inflexional
Derivational
to add something small to a word to fit with grammar rules, does not change meaning; e.g. attaching -s to run in run doesn’t drastically change the meaning of the in confect-ion-er-s the plural inflexion -s appears after all other
Derivational, adding suffix or prefix to a root word but changes the meaning, changing function of word or meaning. e.g. use to misuse or ambition (noun) to ambitious (adjective)
