Etiologia

A

Virus Epstein-Barr (VEB o VHH4) familia herpesviridae.

Asociado a 3 procesos neoplasicos malignos: linfoma de Burkitt, enfermedad de Hondgkin y carcinoma nasofaringeo.

A
Fase aguda: 2-3sem
Fase de convalecencia: 4-8sem
Fase tardia: 29 sem
linfadenopatia (92%) 
faringoamigdalitis
fiebre
exantema
esplenomegalia
ictericia
artralgias o eritema multiforme

Diagnostico

A

X VEB—> BH (1era sem leucopenia+neutrofilia –> 2da sem leucocitosis), anticuerpos heterofilos y sericos
titulos no < 1:80 o 1:160
Prueba de Paul-Bunnell
X CMV —->Deteccion de IgM o aumento de IgG

Tratamiento

A

X VEB: no hay. sintomatico y reposo, analgesicos (acetaminofen). Grave: Prednisona x 1 sem
X CMV: ganciclovir
