What are the indications for joint aspiration?
diagnostic, therapeutic- drainage of fluid, infection, blood
What are the contraindications for joint aspiration?
overlying cellulitis, non native joint, open wound, deranged coag
Which bacteria are associated with septic arhtritis?
staph aureus, n.gonorrhoea, staph epidermidis
Which bacteria is associated with prosthetic septic arthritis?
staph epidermididis
Which blood marker is reactive arthritis associated with?
HLA B27 (seronegative)
What is Reiter’s syndrome?
=reactive arthritis
