すぎる
Something is “in excess of” or “too much”
Affirmative: すぎる/すぎます
Negative: すぎない/すぎません
すぎる with い adjectives:
Drop い, add すぎる (except if it’s いい. In that case, use より and drop the り)
このうわぎは小さすぎる (This jacket is too small).
すぎる with な adjectives:
No rule. Just add the adjective and すぎる together without な.
すぎる with verbs:
Drop the ます at the end of the polite form. Add what’s left of the verb to すぎる.
ので
Just like から。It means “because” but is more polite.
い adjectives: add ので
な adjectives: add な before ので
Verbs: use plain form and add ので
つもり
Means “plan” or “intention.” Always use dictionary forms with つもり.
Affirmative: use the plain affirmative form of verb.
Negative: use the plain negative form of verb.
~つ
General counter that only goes up to 10. Can be used to count anything up to ten when you don’t know what the correct counter is.
~まい
Used to count flat or near flat objects (paper, cards. slices of bread, CDs, DVDs, dishes, sliced cheese, clothes (except outerwear), etc.)
There is no special rule for it. Just add a number to まい。
~ほん
Used to count long and thin objects (often cylindrical) (trees, pens, strings, yakitori, flowers, bottles, cords, spoons, knives, forks, chopsticks, etc.)

でしょう/だろう
Used to express that an action is likely to happen. でしょう is more polite than だろう.
