Where was Jesus from?
Jesus was from Bethlehem.
Who was king around the time when Jesus was born?
King Herod was the king at that time.
Who came to Jerusalem? What did they ask?
Wise men from the East came to Jerusalem and asked where the king of the Jews had been born.
What happened when the king heard this? Who did he call together and ask where the Messiah would be born?
When King Herod heard this, he was disturbed. He called together the chief priests and teachers of the law and asked where the Messiah would be born
What did Herod find out in his secret meeting with the visitors from the East, and what did he send them to do?
Herod found out the exact time the star had appeared and sent them to Bethlehem, instructing them to search carefully for the child.
When the visitors from the East left Herod, what did they see?
They saw the star they had seen in the East, which went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was
where did the visitors from the east go and what did they give jesus
They went to the house where the child, Jesus, was with his mother, Mary. They gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
What did God warn the visitors from the East not to do?
God warned them in a dream not to go back to Herod, so they returned to their country by another route
What did the angel of the Lord say in Joseph’s dream?
The angel told Joseph to take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt, because Herod was going to search for the child to kill him
Where did Joseph go after this? This was done to make a prophet’s word come true. Who was the prophet?
Joseph went to Egypt, and this fulfilled the prophecy of Hosea: “Out of Egypt I called my son.”
What did Herod do when he found out he got tricked by the visitors from the East?
Herod was furious and ordered the killing of all boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under.
