What does SODA (aka 5 way) scoring stand for?
Substitution, Omission, Distortion, Addition
What does typical variation mean?
Developmental speech errors(age appropriate) or something is typical for a dialect
What does atypical variation mean?
Developmental speech errors(age-inappropriate) or atypical speech errors
What are types of atypical variations of speech disorders?
Lateral lisp, glottal replacement, initial consonant deletion, backing, stops replace glide, fricatives replacing stops
What is the imitated response type when eliciting speech samples?
Ask child to imitate word you are saying
What is the elicited response type when eliciting speech samples?
You ask the child what something is directly
What is the spontaneous response type when eliciting speech samples?
Ask the child to start telling you about something random/observe them
What are some client factors that can influence scoring?
Age or behavior
Individual speaking chracteristic
What are some task factors that may influence scoring?
