1. Identify a safe direction
2. Point the firearm in a safe direction which finger off the trigger.
3. Inset a loaded magazine.
4. Make sure the magazine is firmly in place.
5. Grip the slide at the rear between the thumb and index fingers.
6. Pull the side all the way to the rear, keeping your index finger off the muzzle.
7. Let the slide go.
8. Complete the two handed grip.
9. The firearm can now be aimed at the target.
