WBS (Work Breakdown Structure)

A

Is a deliverable oriented decomposition of a project into smaller components. It defines and groups a project’s discrete work elements in a way that helps organize and define the total work scope for the project. This is not an Organizational Process Asset. If using a template it comes from past projects or the PMO. The WBS also serves as input to the cost estimating and the risk management planning processes.
