Cooing stage
Occurs at ages of 2-3 months. Noises like ooh and ahh are used
Babbling stage
Occurs at ages of 4-12 months. Noises like ba ba and da da are used
One word stage
Occurs at 12-18 months of age
Two word stage (telegraphic speech)

Expressive Aphasia
When there is damage to Broca’s area that is responsible for speech production
Receptive Aphasia
When there is damage to Wernicke’s Area that is responsible for comprehension
Global Aphasia
Extensive damage to Broca’s and Wernicke’s areas

What did Noam Chomsky say about language?
