What is VFR
3SM visibility & 1,000ft ceiling.
What is the ceiling?
It is the lowest broken or overcast layer.
What happens if the field drops below 3SM visibility and 1,000ft ceiling the field becomes IFR with one exception.
It becomes IFR with one exception.
Special VFR
Must request with control tower
Visibility must be 1SM & you can remain clear of clouds
For SVFR at night the airport must be equiped for instrument flight and the pilot instrument rated & current.
