Suggest that in moral situation contemplation is an essential element of moral decision making.
Barriers to the creation of an ethical organization
Ill conceived goals, Motivated blindness, indirect blindness, slippery slope, overvaluing outcomes.
What derails ethical behavior
Goals that reward unethical behavior. Conflicts of interest. Inability to notice slowly deteriorating behavior. Overlooking unethical decisions when outcome is good.
Conflicts of Interests Occurs When
Judgement is compromised. Objectivity is compromised.
Types of conflict of interest
Overt bribes or kickbacks. Subtle Bribes. Influence. Privileged information
A Whistleblower is
Attempts to change an organizational practice. Reports the problem issue. Reports outside their chain of command.
Dodd-Frank Act scope of protection.
Individuals reporting a violation of securities laws. Anti-retaliation provisions to protect whistleblower. Must be reporting an SEC violation. Specific rules for reporting.

Do what you are told. Quit your job. Report inside or outside organization
