various tools and equipment used
for daily tasks such as planting
crops, domesticating animals, and
trade .

BARBARISM
CIVILIZED
The lowest stage of development,
which is exemplified by the nomadic
and hunter-gatherer lifestyle.
SAVAGERY STAGE
Middle stage of development where people
began learning agricultural techniques and
the domestication of animals.
BARBARISM STAGE
The highest stage of development where
people learned writing.
CIVILIZED STAGE
Small and nomadic family
groups and plainly organized;
men are hunters, women are
gatherers.
Leadership was based on
strength, intelligence, and
trustworthiness.
BAND-LEVEL SOCIETY
Several bands connected
through clans and kinships.
Leader of the tribe is
considered as headman, he
had significant influence on
members to assert power and
resolve conflict.
Tribe Society
Complicated interactions
among tribes as well as large
populations and transformed
leadership roles and more
complex responsibilities.
CHIEFDOM
The community of person
permanently occupying a
definite portion of the territory,
having a government of their
own and freedom of external
control..
STATE
