Amnion

Embryo
Mucous membrane lining of the uterus.
Endometrium
That portion of the male duct system in which sperm mature. Empties into the ductus (or vas) deferens.
Epididymis
Fusion of the sperm and egg nuclei.
Fertilization
Developmental stage extending from the ninth week of development to birth.
Fetus
Sex or germ cell.
Gamete
Primary reproductive organ; i.e., the testis of the male or the ovary of the female.
Gonad
Production and secretion of milk.
Lactation
Nuclear division process that reduces the chromosomal number by half and results in the formation of four haploid (n) cells; occurs only in certain reproductive organs.
Meiosis
Period of life when, prompted by hormonal changes, ovulation and menstruation cease.
Menopause
The mulberry-like solid mass of blastomeres resulting from cleavage in the early conceptus.
Morula
Immature female gamete.
