Project
A temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product, service, or results
Business Analysis
The practice of enabling change in an organizational context by evaluating needs and recommending solutions that deliver value to stakeholders
Project Sponsor
An individual or group that provides resources and support for the project, program, or portfolio, and is accountable for enabling success
Project Manager
Someone responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing a project to ensure it is completed on time an within budget
Project Charter
A document that authorizes a project and defines its goals, responsibilities, and requirements
Business Analyst
An individual who analyzes data to improve business processes, products, and services
Project Vision Statement
a concise, high-level description of the project that states the project’s purpose and inspires the team to contribute to the project
Stakeholder
An individual, group, or organization that may affect, be affected by, or perceive itself to be affected by a decision, activity, or outcome of a project, program, or portfolio
Business Case
Identifies business needs including the proposed benefits and value, feasibility, study, cost/benefit analysis, and more
Project Management
the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project activities to meet the project requirements
Predictive Life Cycle
A project that is planned entirely from the beginning
Adaptive Life Cycle
A project that is planned as the project progresses
Hybrid Life Cycle
A project that has a combination of a plan with set outlines but is still expected to be adjusted throughout the project
Operation
An ongoing and repetitive function that is permanent within a business
Program
A grouping of related projects, sub programs, or other activities managed and coordinated together
Portfolio
Contains projects, programs, subsidiary portfolios, and operations managed as a group
