Brief Summary:
A
- The heart is really 2 separate pumps lying side by side, separated by the septum. (double circulatory system).
- Left side deals with oxygenated blood.
- Right side deals with deoxygenated blood.
- Covered by a tough membrane called the pericardium, which produces pericardial fluid.

-thick dividing wall between the two sides of the heart.

A
-smaller upper chambers of the heart through which blood enters the ventricles.

A
-largest artery carrying oxgenated blood at high pressure.

-largest vein carrying deoxygenated blood.

-larger chambers toward the apex of the heart that collect and expel blood received from the atria.
